5 day follow-up course in Cervical Cytology
This is a practically based course aimed at trainees who have attended the Pre-Reg Diploma Introductory Course in Cervical Cytology. The course is run approximately one year after the Introductory Course.
During the week the following topics will discussed in more detail along with an opportunity for the student to assess their own progress at screening.
More challenging topics will be covered, including atrophic samples, glandular samples and borderline nuclear changes along with false negative cytology.
A whole day will be dedicated to cell biology, immunocytochemistry and other techniques which are becoming increasingly relevant to cervical screening.
The week finishes with a mock examination which is aimed at assessing the student’s progress and achievement of learning outcomes.
