The North of England Pathology Screening & Education Centre (NEPSEC) Pre-Examination Course is a four-day course designed for both BMS grades and Cytology Screeners who are intending to sit the Certificate in Cervical Cytology examination.
This intensive course consists of preparation and practice in both practical and written components, followed by a mock examination. In addition to advice on practical and written examination technique, there is access to the teaching slide collection and test material.
The course is open to anyone intending to sit the examination, but priority will be given to those who have a definite examination date.
Students are reminded that they should bring their portfolio to the course for review and signing as needed.

Any one course accommodates a maximum of eight trainees and through a series of workshops, lectures and tutorials it introduces the many aspects of gynaecological cytology to students at their own pace.

Day 1 & 2: This is a two day theoretical course covering the curriculum outlined by the British Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. This course will be suitable for all members of the Medical and Nursing Profession who play an active role in the management of Colposcopy Services and Cervical Screening.
Day 3: This is a practical one day course intended to complement the theoretical aspect of day 1 and 2 covering the areas within the BSCCP curriculum for cytology and gynaecological pathology.
