Introduction to Gynae Cytology for Consultant Pathologists and Medics
This course aims to provide medically qualified staff with an introduction to cervical cytology and cervical screening. It will aim to provide an understanding of the morphology of normal and most abnormal material with ample opportunity to discuss cases with experienced cytologists.
The course will also cover basic theoretical elements including an understanding of the wider programme.
For those requiring additional slides towards CSER, additional slides can be made available for viewing within the course time without additional cost or after the course at an additional cost.
Following completion of the course, candidates will: –
. Understand the range of normal and abnormal cells found in cervical cytology
. Be able to apply standard national reporting criteria
. Understand the clinical significance of each cytology report in patient management
. Understand the HPV primary screening system
. Understand the wider cervical screening programme
