The identification of glandular neoplasias and their distinction from benign entities remains one of the more challenging aspects of cervical cytology and correct distinction of one from the other is important in ensuring that patients receive the most appropriate management.
Failure to do so can lead to delay in diagnosis and cancer on the one hand and overtreatment on the other. Whilst cytologists can use the borderline in endocervical cells category, this too comes with risks and should be a rare report.
This workshop is aimed at refreshing the participants understanding of glandular neoplasia and its features and helping them to develop strategies for dealing with problematic cases.
Cases will be in ThinPrep™ Cytology
